A bitcoin shop is scheduled to open in Vancouver in 2018.
The space is located at the corner of Queen and King streets, with plans to open early in the new year.
The shop will be able to accept bitcoin as a payment option and has plans to offer more bitcoin-based services as well.
According to a release from the store, the new location is a first for Vancouver and a first in Canada.
The Vancouver Bitcoin Exchange will also be accepting bitcoin payments, according to the release.
The store is located next door to the Bitcoin Exchange in the same building.
Bitcoin has been gaining traction in Vancouver due to its decentralized nature and accessibility, according the release from Vancouver’s City of Vancouver.
In the past year, bitcoin’s value has grown by almost 70 percent in Vancouver, according CoinDesk.
